What this can mean for you

These are the practical signs to raise early, before a routine item becomes an unresolved year-end issue.

  1. 01

You contract through an agency, work directly with clients, or use both models.

  2. 02

Your corporation invoices Canadian or U.S. clients, sometimes in U.S. dollars.

  3. 03

Software, equipment, home-office costs and professional subscriptions need a clear business record.

  4. 04

Owner pay, GST/HST and the working relationship behind a contract need to stay visible.

How SoloInc handles the routine

SoloInc keeps ordinary compliance moving for eligible corporations. The owner provides complete records and answers the questions that need context.

01

Keep contract revenue and costs organized

SoloInc reconciles ordinary banking and card activity, records supported operating costs, and keeps customer invoices and payment records connected.

02

Manage recurring filings and owner administration

Routine GST/HST, T2, salary, dividend, payroll and information-return work is handled within the agreed scope where applicable.

03

Raise contract risks early

Changes in client concentration or working arrangements are flagged so a possible Personal Services Business concern is not discovered only at year-end.

Clear boundary

When this needs a closer look

SoloInc identifies the issue, explains the next step, and agrees separate specialist work before it begins.

  • A material Personal Services Business concern or a contract that closely resembles employment.
  • A U.S. business presence, work performed outside Canada or another complex cross-border fact.
  • Substantial employee payroll, a corporate group, major historical cleanup or a new shareholder.

Common questions

Q.01Can an agency contractor qualify?

Possibly. An agency relationship does not decide eligibility by itself. SoloInc reviews the corporation, its records and the actual working arrangement before accepting the engagement.

Q.02Can I have U.S. clients?

Yes, ordinary U.S.-client activity can fit. The contracts, invoices, currency and GST/HST facts must be clear, while complex U.S. tax or business-presence questions are separately reviewed.

Q.03Are software, equipment and home-office costs handled?

Supported routine business costs are recorded as part of the books. Deductibility, capital treatment and any mixed personal use depend on the facts and supporting records.
