Questions, answered

The useful answers, without the jargon

A few of the questions owners ask before moving to a managed corporation model.

What is Corporation as a Service?

It is one standardized service for having the routine accounting, tax and corporate compliance of an eligible corporation managed.

What exactly is included?

Routine bookkeeping, standard T2 and GST/HST compliance, and standard owner payroll or information-return administration within scope are included.

How is SoloInc billed?

Outside Quebec, SoloInc Complete is CAD $200 per month and SoloInc Hold is CAD $125 per month, plus applicable sales taxes. Quebec enquiries are welcome. Indicative prices are CAD $250 and CAD $150 respectively, plus GST/QST; eligibility, scope and fees are confirmed in writing. Both are billed monthly by pre-authorized debit. Complete may be ended with 30 days’ notice; Hold has a 12-month minimum.

Can I use SoloInc if my corporation has no revenue?

SoloInc Hold is designed for eligible corporations that have ceased active business operations but still have annual compliance obligations. No revenue alone does not necessarily qualify a corporation.

Can I purchase corporate tax preparation without a subscription?

Yes. TEPLOV CPA offers standalone T2 and CO-17 preparation for businesses that maintain their own accounting records.

Can I move from Hold to Complete?

Eligible corporations can transition to SoloInc Complete when business operations resume, subject to the applicable service terms.

What is SoloInc Hold?

SoloInc Hold is a fixed-scope compliance package for an eligible corporation with no sales, payroll or operating activity. It includes minimal year-end bookkeeping, annual corporate tax and registry filings, nil sales-tax returns within scope, and routine account correspondence. If operations resume, the corporation moves to Complete or another agreed scope.

What does the $200 model assume?

The corporation has one active owner, primarily sells services, has ordinary activity across agreed business accounts, begins from current books and filings, and provides complete digital records on time. Eligibility and scope are confirmed before the subscription begins.

What if my books or filings are behind?

We assess the current position before the recurring service begins. Historical cleanup or overdue filings are identified separately, with the next step agreed before work begins.

Can I have U.S. clients or pay myself salary and dividends?

These can be common facts for a one-owner corporation and are worth discussing at eligibility review. Routine owner salary, dividend and shareholder-account administration may be within scope; complex cross-border or tax-planning matters need separate specialist review.

What happens if I want to switch accountants or leave?

A switch begins with a records and current-status review. If the engagement ends, SoloInc provides the organized records needed for continuity according to the engagement terms.

Why can SoloInc offer a clear fixed price?

SoloInc deliberately works with narrow operating and inactive-corporation profiles and standardizes routine compliance. The published price reflects the selected package and the additional Quebec compliance layer.

What is not included?

Complex advisory, cleanup, restructuring, audits and other work outside the defined scope are identified, scoped and priced before they begin.

Is my personal T1 return included?

No. SoloInc Complete is the recurring corporate service. Personal T1 preparation is separate unless a written engagement expressly says otherwise.

What happens if I have 500 transactions?

Transaction volume and complexity form part of the operating assumptions. If activity materially exceeds the agreed routine profile, SoloInc explains the impact and agrees the next step before changing the scope or price.

What if I hire someone?

Tell SoloInc before payroll begins. A small, ordinary payroll may be manageable, but substantial employee payroll or new employment obligations can require a different scope.

What if I add a shareholder?

A second owner changes the legal, tax and eligibility facts. Share issues or transfers need specialist review before implementation, and SoloInc eligibility must be reassessed.

What if I might be a Personal Services Business?

SoloInc flags potential PSB facts but does not promise an outcome or include complex PSB analysis in the subscription. A material concern is directed to specialist review.

What if I disagree with a tax treatment?

Raise the concern promptly. SoloInc explains the basis for routine treatment and identifies when a separate technical review or another professional opinion is appropriate.

What happens if CRA audits the corporation?

Routine notices may fall within the ordinary service. A review, audit, objection or dispute is separately scoped before representation or substantial response work begins.

Can SoloInc end the service?

Yes, in accordance with the engagement terms—for example, when required information is not provided, fees remain unpaid, risk becomes unacceptable or the corporation no longer fits the service.

Can I cancel?

SoloInc Complete may be ended with 30 days’ notice, subject to the engagement terms and outstanding work. SoloInc Hold has a 12-month minimum because its work is primarily annual.

What happens to my records when I leave?

SoloInc provides the organized accounting, tax and ordinary corporate records needed for continuity according to the engagement terms. The leaving page explains the handoff.
